Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park
Distance: 139 km
Estimated Travel Time: 2 to 3 hours
Commence your three-day camping safari by meeting us at your Arusha lodge after breakfast for a brief safari orientation. Our journey begins with a scenic drive to Tarangire National Park, passing through the heart of Arusha town for any last-minute essentials before venturing into the wilderness. Renowned for its expansive elephant population and majestic Baobab trees, Tarangire National Park is home to over 3000 elephants within the Tarangire-Lake Manyara ecosystem. The park comes from the Tarangire River, a vital water source cutting through its center.
With its captivating landscape, the park is a sanctuary for rare species such as the Greater Kudu, Fringed Eared Oryx, and the Ash Stalling. Keep an eye out for the diverse wildlife, including lions, leopards, hyenas, jackals, buffalo, giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, and numerous antelopes. As the day concludes, we head to Migombani Public Campsite or a similar site near Lake Manyara for a captivating sunset, followed by dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Tarangire – Ngorongoro Crater
Distance: 87 km
Estimated Travel Time: 2 to 3 hours
The second day of your 3-day camping safari unfolds as we journey to the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater. Following breakfast at your campsite, we set out for Ngorongoro Crater, traversing the Great East African Rift Valley and the elevated farmlands of Karatu. Upon reaching the Ngorongoro gate for check-in, we proceed to the Crater viewpoint for breathtaking photographs of the crater floor from the rim. Descending into the Crater floor, enjoy an extraordinary game drive with a picnic lunch served at the crater floor.
Often referred to as one of the world's wonders, Ngorongoro Crater is not a typical crater but rather the largest unfolded volcanic caldera, hosting a rich diversity of Africa's wildlife. Witness the rare black rhino in its natural habitat, and encounter lions, hyenas, jackals, elephants, zebras, hippos, rhinos, antelopes, and a plethora of bird species, including flamingos.
Conclude this day by ascending out of Ngorongoro Conservation Area, making a sunset stop at Lake Manyara viewpoint to capture the beauty of the lake and its surrounding forest from the edge of the Great East African Rift Valley. Then, drive down to Migombani Public Campsite or a similar site near Lake Manyara for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park – Arusha
Distance to Lake Manyara: 7 Minutes
Distance back to Arusha: 120 km – 2 to 3 hours
Conclude your camping safari with a delightful breakfast at your campsite before heading to Lake Manyara National Park for captivating game drives. This verdant park owes its lushness to underground water streams flowing from the Great Rift Valley to the lake. The park's diverse habitats attract a wide array of wildlife, including herds of African elephants, buffalo, zebra, impala, hippos, giraffes, and various antelopes. Keep an eye out for the famed tree-climbing lions and other predators. Lake Manyara, a shallow soda lake, is home to vibrant flamingos and other aquatic birds feasting on algae and water creatures.
In the late afternoon, contingent upon your flight time, return to Arusha via Mto wa Mbu town for an overnight stay or drop-off at the airport. Optionally, you may visit some Masai markets on your way back to Arusha.
